Ideology Knotwork

They need to do away with pretty much all administrators and let the teachers and parents make the decisions. Maybe then they’d start teaching science, math, history, and language skills instead of how to get your entitlements.

Anyone care to try and unpack that incredible ideological mashup?  Or at least how explain how administrators are responsible for our schools teaching “how to get your entitlements?”

    Trust me, you can not understand where this guy is coming from. You should go through both the Lebanon Express and the Albany paper and read some of the remakes he makes. His business is going under and he is now blaming others for it.

    I can see an issue with administrators at the schools in Lebanon. I have talked with many teachers and to a person they say their evaluations that are meant to improve their teaching skills are a joke. No administrator has ever seriously evaluated any of them. It seems that unless they want to get rid of you during your probationary period, they just let you do whatever you want. So long as it is not too outrageous. Examples abound but movies and parties, leaving students unattended, having students get you food during class, etc. are all examples that have been cited as behaviors that have and continue to go on in the high school. Other than that I have no idea what this person is talking about.

    Well, maybe they should strive to be good teachers without needing reprimanded on an evaluation. That’s the problem with tenure (if that’s what they call it in Lebanon) — your rock solid. I would hope that most wouldn’t take advantage of that, but a critical evaluation really only guarantees that the district you currently work in is the one you will be in for the next 20 years or more. Perhaps administrators would like for them to move on? It get’s very political unfortunately.
