[LCSD] Doing the Administrator Shuffle

April 21, 2009

A comment left on this website:

Dr Rob Hess was officially hired at last night’s School Board meeting. We met at the conclusion of the Board meeting and discussed administrative assignments for the 2009-2010 school year. We are pleased to announce the following changes with an effective date of July 1, 2009:

Ryan Noss to the Administrator of Student Achievement at the district office;
Mark Finch as the Principal of Pioneer;
Jan Zarate as the Principal of Green Acres;
Kevin Bogatin to LHS Assistant Principal;
Jennifer Meckley as the Principal of Seven Oak;
Ed Sansom as the Principal of Lacomb.

I would like to offer my personal congratulations to each of the administrators in their new assignments. This should be a positive move for each of them professionally and benefit the students of Lebanon Community School District.

In addition, there will be three administrative reductions in the proposed 2009-2010 budget document. They include not back filling Steve Kelley’s position as the Assistant Superintendent, Laurie Glazner, Administrator of Special Education programs, and Kim Masog, Lebanon High School administrator. This will result in a 50% reduction of licensed administrative personnel in the district office.

All other administrative personnel are not scheduled to move from their existing building.

George D Lanning
Interim Superintendent
Lebanon Community Schools

While I am not at ALL sure this is actually from Lanning, the outcomes track with what Tre’ Kennedy has reported.  I assume that all administrative staff have been properly notified.  I also agree with Kennedy that Lacomb may not be very happy about this move.  Oh, and I think this could be an amazing career move for Noss, who is very young (or at least LOOKS very young) and has a stellar reputation.  That guy’s on the fast track to somewhere.

[LCSD] Kindness

April 21, 2009

From the “real” LT:

Wow, someone is living in Oz. This is Lebanon, for ten years there has been no kindness and there never will be.

I would humbly suggest that this is really pretty telling, especially when contrasted with the story told at tonight’s board meeting by the LB&GC award winner.  Or the LHS students who came and spoke about their senior project collecting clothes for people who need them at the last board meeting.  Both stories are replete with kindness.  To suggest otherwise – well, even I believe there is kindness in Lebanon, and in spades.  Let’s assume that contra the actual words, this is hyperbole.

It really could explain a lot, though.
