Science, Beer, and OMSI

Passed on to me earlier today:

In March, OSU is entering into a new partnership with the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) and the Downtown Corvallis Association. On March 9th, Corvallis becomes the third Oregon city to start its own monthly Science Pub.  We are featuring, over the next several months, several OSU faculty as speakers for this European approach to science and community building. The first is focused on fermentation science: “Beer: A Tasty Blend of Art, History and Science” with Jeff Clawson, on Monday, March 9 at 6 pm at the Old World Deli, 341 SW Second.

If you are hip enough to have a Facebook page :), you can rsvp at: If Facebook eludes you, just come and join us – no real need to RSVP. We do expect this to fill, so come early- – in fact, we suggest that everyone arrives between 5 and 5:30 to order food and the program begins at 6 p.m.

OMSI is maintaining a Web site for this series at: The audiences for this event include the OSU community, our local community and all residents and our partners in the area.

Science Pub in Portland draws up to 400 people and creates great exposure for science and strong community building.
